DOVE BISCUIT STUDIO is a small, unique art gallery founded in 2012 and located inside The Last Bookstore in Downtown Los Angeles. Edgy, fun, eclectic and unpretentious, Dove Biscuit Studio showcases Californian artists working in such diverse genres as street art, punk poster art, psychedelic seascapes, feline kitsch and socio-political satire. It is open weekends 11-6pm and whenever possible during the week.

Our Story

Dove Biscuit studio was founded by artist ROBIN McGEOUGH, local artist and director at a local treatment center for psychiatric and chemical dependency problems. Robin passed away from cancer in 2025 leaving a legacy of many lives saved, a community enriched by his presence, and a gallery which continues to celebrate local art as a source of positivity, community and celebration.

Before he passed, Robin handed directorship of Dove Biscuit over to friend and longtime DB artist, STEPHEN HOLMAN whose four-decade career in the arts includes founding legendary LA performance art venue Theatre Carnivale in the 1980s, creating children’s TV animation series for 90s Nickelodeon, Warner Bros and Disney, and working as an artist on Pee Wee’s Playhouse.

Manning the Dove Biscuit desk most weekends is local legend, DARRELL HARVEY, whose ‘Tabbies’ are one of DB’s main art attractions, and FRANCESCA INNOCENTI who’s amazing found-material fashion items are also for sale in the gallery.

A Unique Experience

Dove Biscuit is part of the Spring Arts Collective, a group of five art galleries located inside THE LAST BOOKSTORE a huge used/new bookstore housed in a 22,000 square foot, former bank building on the corner of 5th and Spring St in historic, downtown LA. The Last Bookstore is an iconic LA tourist destination and has been named one of the 20 most beautiful bookstores in the world. We are also walking distance from Grand Central Station Market, LA’s Central Library, the LA Fashion District, Little Tokyo, MOCA and The Broad art museums.
